PROFILE:

Russell Olsen has been photographing and documenting Route 66 since his first trip down the fabled highway in1996. In 2004, his book 'Route 66 Lost and Found' was published by MBI . He is currently working on Route 66 Lost and Found II, a follow up to his first book to be released soon. He has traveled the entire route over a dozen times over the last few years in an effort to document the hundreds of vanishing sites along the route. He is especially fond of black and white infrared photography and enjoys its challenges. “You release the shutter, expose the film and you never really know how it will turn out. It is fun and frustrating at the same time!”
Russell is a charter member of the 4260 Black and White Photographers’ Guild.
