PROFILE:

Irv loves trains, and specifically, Steam Locomotives. On vacations away from his job with Amtrak, he has traveled to India , Southern Africa , South America , and Eastern Europe to see and photograph the rapidly disappearing steamers that still run in regular service. About three years ago, super-8 sound film became unavailable, so Irv took up black and white photography. Since then he has photographed sugar mill railroads in Cuba and the Jitong railway of Inner Mongolia , China . They are among the handful of places in the world to view these wonderful machines of the Industrial Age still performing 'real' work on a daily basis.
Irv is a charter member of the 4260 Black and White Photographers’ Guild.
